Once upon a time...

Once upon a time... the cutest couple called me up to discuss their wedding.

One pandemic, a micro wedding and a baby later, the big day finally went ahead!

Many years ago, in early 2019, Trisha & Sam contacted me to talk about their wedding the following year. I quoted, they accepted and we planned to meet at my studio for their pre-wedding shoot as they wanted to create a photo wedding invitation; and we had a great time! I was immediately struck by their closeness and the fun they so clearly had together and couldn't wait for the wedding!

But then, Covid struck. The wedding industry was thrown into chaos along with all the plans for Trisha & Sam's big day. Suppliers rallied around to try and accommodate the ever changing restrictions but in the end, the inevitable happened and the wedding was postponed.

However, these guys were not going to let covid disrupt their plans completely! With restrictions still hampering every move, they made the difficult decision to go ahead with the legal part of their wedding as this was important to them before starting a family. They booked a civil ceremony at the nearest venue available and in May 2021 they asked me along to an incredibly intimate ceremony at Colchester Town Hall. Armed with face masks and with their two nan's as witnesses, the couple officially tied the knot.

After the Covid crisis, things began to get back to normal and Mr & Mrs Davies contacted me to let me know the new date for their family wedding, in 2023! At the time this seemed such a long way off but all became clear as Trisha and Sam announced the arrival of longed for Junior into the world. I was so honoured to be asked to photograph him as a new born and it was lovely to know that he would now be there for the final 'big day' to make it complete.

And so...

In may of 2023, Trisha & Sam had the day they had so patiently waited for to celebrate their love for one another with their closest people. Blessed in the beautiful Holy Trinity, Rayleigh with their reception next door in the fantastic Old Parish Rooms, the day couldn't have been more perfect.

Trisha was stunning in her originally chosen dress from 2019! She wore a beautiful full length, patterned silk, gown with bateaux neckline and full length veil. Sam looked as handsome as on their first wedding day in his blue, textured 3 piece.

This day was particularly special to me.

It had been such a long time coming and I felt quite emotional having got to know Trisha & Sam and all they had gone through to get to this point. Seeing them still totally in love, totally united and as always, having fun, made it an absolute pleasure to be a part of.
