VERY OVER EXCITED to have been able to start getting out and about this month to finally meet some of the wonderful couples who have booked their weddings with me this year.
A virtual chat, which has been the only option available in recent times, is certainly not my ideal introduction to couples as I feel pretty awkward on screen. Therefore, as well as being a great opportunity to meet in person, a pre-wedding shoot is also an opportunity for me to be myself and give my clients a true picture of what it will be like to have me hanging around on their wedding day!
For me, the importance of making meaningful connections with clients cannot be underestimated if I am to produce my best images. Getting to known people on a personal level is invaluable in terms of building a warm and trusting relationship which is easy and relaxed. But as well as this, an understanding of how couples relate to each other and interact together informs my expectation of the type of images I should be looking to capture on their big day.
It was a huge pleasure to meet Lizzie and Robb in person after our initial Zoom meeting. I already felt that I had a good understanding of the sort of photography they wanted but meeting them in person gave me a complete picture of their personalities, style and what they valued most in their images. A couple to aspire to, I saw a dynamic relationship founded in great friendship, filled with fun, laughter and warmth, which radiated from the outset. With such great company and the beautiful seaside town of Frinton as a backdrop, our meet up was more like a break away than a work appointment.
Lizzie and Robb very kindly allowed me to share some of their images from the shoot along with their lovely feedback...
'It was so nice to meet you too, we really enjoyed the experience and we are so glad you convinced us to do the photos, as it will definitely make the big day even more stress free. We've both just had a look through the photos and we are blown away! We didn't know we could look so natural and happy in pictures. They're beautiful, thank you for capturing them for us.'
