It must be love, love, love.

A look back at Allison & Kevin's gorgeous June wedding at The Lion Inn Hotel, Boreham... The sun blazed, the bride was smokin', the band were of fire!

Hot!

This wedding was HOT in all senses of the word! From the 26 degree heat to the hot pink colour scheme and not forgetting the gorgeous bride and groom!

Allison could not have looked more stunning in her dreamy, off the shoulder, fishtail gown from WED2B which had the most gorgeous oversized bow on the back. It may have given the bridesmaids a lot of work to help get it on and everyone was sweating in the heat by the end of it but it was totally worth the effort!

The bridesmaids were perfection themselves in full length, HOT pink gowns which perfectly complimented Alison's gorgeous bouquet.

Blush-ing

Allison's colour scheme looked just as good on Kevin and the groom's party who waited patiently for the arrival of the bride in Navy and white 3 piece suits with hot pink accents.

The beautiful bride to be walked the candle lit aisle, strewn with deep pink rose petals, to greet her slightly nervous groom and the couple made their vows in front of a gorgeous floral arch - all beautifully styled by The Flower Hut.

It couldn't have been more perfect!

Nailed it!

With the hard part over, the newlyweds could get down to business and start the celebrations with a glass of fizz and their special people out on the terrace. The Lion has one of my favourite outdoor spaces with beautiful views over the Essex countryside, pretty water feature and thankfully, lots of shade! Whilst the guests tried to keep cool and enjoyed yummy canapes, the fab venue team turned the room around for the wedding breakfast.

Table decorations were, simple and stylish with a fun nod to the couples love of ska in the vinyl table names (Etsy) and table plan (Design4Print) Their wedding cake (Occasional Cakes) continued the theming of the day beautifully.

After a well earned dinner, Allison's sons made the most heartfelt speeches which made the whole room laugh and melt in equal measure. Even the photographer had tears in her eyes as the groom and best men talked about their shared memories, losses and the love Allison & Kevin found in each other.

Stop your messing around

As the formalities came to an end, the party was well and truly fired up by the most awesome band, Monkies wedding who played a gorgeous rendition of 'It must be love' (Madness) for the first dance. The Ska duo then played a brilliant set, tag-teaming with DJ David Smith, which had all the guests joining the bride and groom and pogoing across the dance floor - I had SUCH fun on the side lines!

The cool down

The heat and excitement of a party can be quite a lot for anyone but with the added pressures of planning and hosting, for the bride and groom, a wedding day can be quite overwhelming.

As with all my couples, we scheduled a little time out for them to take a few minutes to breath, take everything in and just be together. This allowed me the perfect opportunity to subtly linger in the background and organically capture, the love, love, love as it shone through.

With huge thanks to Kevin & Allison for allowing me to share their special day...
